For our first head to head, rival on rival, catfight, we start out with an easy one:
Starbucks Kjøttbasaren 🆚 Espresso House Olav Kyrres Gate
I tested the coffee on a cold rainy day, so also got to see how the cups faired keeping the drinks warm.
Before I had even tried both coffees I knew it was an easy one.
I ordered a flat white at both places. Espresso House was the only one who a) offered me a sleeve for the cup, b) talked to me while I waited and c) had the front door open, so I could actually get out. Starbucks had 2 heavy double doors, both closed, and I struggled to balance my cup, bags and umbrella for what seemed like forever, while the staff watched me. They offered no help, even though they had noone else to serve. I know I’m not some frail old lady, but shame on you Starbucks Kjøttbasaren. Shame. Shame. Shame.
Lesson of the day is that some basic kindness goes a long way. Before I had even tried both coffees I knew it was an easy one.
Let’s look at the scores.

Enjoy the crushing victory EH 😉👏👏 I’m sad to say I probably won’t be going back to that Starbucks, coffee wasn’t even nice.
Now all that remains is to wait for my colleague, so I can pretend I bought him a Starbucks 😇
PS: There is a Starbucks in Bergen which I really like, so this review is just for this particular one.
